A carefully renovated house in the traditional Greek mountain village of Thalames. The house “Nostalgia” is a perfect long-term rental for those seeking peace, quiet and an authentic experience. “Nostalgia” is located about 200 meters from the excellent tavern “Platanos” (open all year round and the lively heart of the village) and “Morea”, an olive oil factory that produces excellent oil. About 3 times a week a “fruit and vegetable truck” comes to the square and the nearest supermarket “Kritikos” is located in the village of Stoupa, about 14 km from the house.
The house was renovated in 2024 and is on two floors, each floor has its own entrance. On the upper floor, which has access to a cozy balcony with space for a dining table, there is a kitchen/living room (approximately 31 m2) and a large bathroom with shower and washing machine.
The ground floor consists of an elongated hall/living room/office (approx. 12 m2) and a bedroom (approx. 9 m2). The house is heated with a stove on the ground floor and/or A/C on both floors. Water heating is via solar panels.
Price per month plus booking and payment terms
The house is available for rent from the first of October 2025. The agreed rental price is 550 euros per month (including WiFi and water) if you rent the house for 12 months. The price does not include cleaning, change of bed linen/towels, firewood for the fireplace or electricity consumption. The cleaning (mandatory, once a month) is paid directly to the cleaning staff and costs 50 euros. Electricity consumption and final cleaning (75 euros) are paid in cash upon check-out to the House Manager.
When booking, you pay one month's rent as a deposit and one month's rent in advance. The payment is made via bank transfer and is refundable if cancelled 60 days before arrival. After that, the refund is not possible. Before you check out, the owner checks the condition of the house and if everything is in order, the damage deposit is refunded to your bank account.

The traditional village of Thalames is located on the western side of Taygetos and at an altitude of 430 meters. The village has been inhabited since Mycenaean times and here was the ancient city of Thalamae (which means “hollow”). The ancient city was famous for its sacred springs and its oracle, where Pasiphae (daughter of Helios and the nymph Perseid) was worshipped. Inscriptions have also been found in the area stating that the inhabitants of Thalamae considered the emperors of Rome, Marcus Aurelius, Antonius and Adrianus, as their patrons. Today the village is famous for its tavern “Platanos” which is worth a visit throughout the year. Good location, courteous and fast service. The food is delicious with flavors and quality like in the good old days.
